While the U.S. and other developed economies struggle through these tough times with bailouts, and low interest rates from central banks, the economies which are leading the world in recovery are developing nations like China and Brazil.
Brazil recently reported growth of 9% in it’s economy. The forecast for the first quarter of 2010 was growth of 6.5%, but Brazil’s booming economy surged past expectations. It’s no secret anymore Brazil is booming, and it’s on track to becoming one of the top economies in the Americas.
Economy Minister Guido Mantega pointed out that deft handling of fiscal and monetary policies, coupled with resilient demand from a growing middle class guided the nation through the meltdown, which began in 2008 and continues to threaten nations, such as Greece, Spain and Portugal.
Some key economic numbers in Brazil that have surged include industrial output which jumped 14.6 per cent in the first quarter compared with the same period last year. Services expanded by 5.9 per cent, and agriculture grew 5.1 per cent.
Brazil could very well be the best place to be in the America’s right now, and one of the best places in the world to expatriate to. The future for Brazil looks promising and for expats looking for a new home that also has a lot of economic opportunity, Brazil just might be the best bet.
